Free agent linebacker Vontaze Burfict has been arrested on Saturday morning in Nevada. He was arrested in Clark County (where Las Vegas is located).
It’s not clear exactly where in Clark County he was arrested at this time. Also, it’s not exactly clear what led to his arrest.

He was charged with a misdemeanor battery charge.
Burfict had a $1,000 bond. He will have a hearing on Monday in the case.
He has not played in a game this season. In fact, he last played in the NFL during the 2019 season, before being suspended.
The troubled player has been suspended and fined numerous times from the NFL. He was last suspended for a controversial hit to Jack Doyle in Week 4 against the Indianapolis Colts.
He has played for the Cincinnati Bengals and the Oakland Raiders in his career.
When his contract with the Raiders expired, he said that he wanted to continue to play. However, no opportunity has come his way this season even with players missing time due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Even if he signed with a team for this season, it’ll be tough. This arrest will hurt him.
And if anybody signed him — which seems unlikely — he would have to be coronavirus tested for five straight days. Then, begin practicing with his teammates, which would be towards the season to begin with.
If Burfict returns to the league in 2021, he would likely face a disciplinary action from the NFL for his arrest.
