Monster Truck driver Scott Buetow made an announcement on Saturday. He has announced that he is no longer competing for Monster Jam.
Buetow did not say what his future plans are at this time.
“Big changes and new opportunities are coming in 2021,” Buetow said in a Facebook post. “I will not be re-signing with Monster Jam for the upcoming 2021 season and beyond. I want to thank Feld Motor Sports for the past 10 years for giving me the opportunity and allowing me to represent their brand. Most importantly, I want to thank all the Monster Jam fans that have embraced me as their own and supported me throughout my Monster Jam career.

“Because of you, we get to do what we do. From the bottom of my heart THANK YOU! I want to be clear, I’m not retiring from driving, I just won’t be driving for Monster Jam. Go Big or Go Home, It’s not the same without the Flame!”
Monster Jam was shut down for much of the year due to the coronavirus pandemic. Feld Motorsports was forced to lay off many of their entertainers, including Monster Truck talent with no events happening.
There are other Monster Truck organizations that Buetow could compete in. Plus, there are independent shows around the country, where tracks hire Monster Trucks to perform, as well.

While Monster Jam was shut down, there were still a lot of Monster Truck shows for drivers, who were not under contract with Monster Jam to make money.
