The Los Angeles Clippers have re-signed forward Paul George. He signed a four-year deal with the team on Thursday.
The contract can become a super max deal. He can earn up to $190 million over the lifetime of the deal.

We admire his talent, his dedication and his unwavering allegiance to this region. We’re excited for the opportunity to accomplish our mutual goals together.”
George’s new deal secures him in a Clippers jersey for at least the next five seasons barring a trade. He was set to become a free agent next summer if he did not reach this agreement.
When George is healthy, he is one of the best swing players in the league. This deal shows that they view him as a key piece to their future.
With an agreement with George, the Clippers can turn their attention to signing Kawhi Leonard. In 2019, he signed with the team.
However, Leonard has the opportunity to opt out of his current contract next summer. If he does, then he’ll be apart of a stack 2021 free agent class.
George was acquired in a blockbuster deal with the Oklahoma City Thunder in the summer of 2019. Leonard reportedly only came to Los Angeles after he was insured that they could acquire George.
In his first season in Los Angeles, he averaged 21.5 points per game in 48 starts. He also had 5.7 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.4 steals, and 0.4 blocks in 29.6 minutes per game.
The Palmdale, California-born player has appeared in 652 games, including 604 starts. He has a 20 points per game average.
He also has averaged 6.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.7 steals, and 0.4 blocks in 33.5 minutes per game.
“Paul is one of the best and most versatile players in the league, and he has been for about a decade,” said Clippers head coach Ty Lue. “He can play on or off the ball. He can score in a variety of different ways. And he can guard almost every position on the court. His skill and leadership will be integral to everything we do for many years to come. I’m thrilled we can continue to build with PG.”
