The Los Angeles Chargers have damaged the Las Vegas Raiders playoff chances. The Chargers defeated the Raiders on Thursday Night Football.

In overtime, the Chargers won 30-27 at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada.

With the win, the Chargers improved to 5-9 on the season. They picked up their second road win of the season, as they are now 2-5 away from SoFi Stadium.

The loss dropped the Raiders to 7-7 on the season. They are now 2-5 at their new home in the desert.

Las Vegas has lost three straight home games.

The win by the Chargers snapped a three-game losing streak to the Raiders. Las Vegas now leads the all-time series 66-55-2.

This is Los Angeles’ first win in the series since a 20-6 win on November 11, 2018.

There’s some serious concern with Derek Carr, who injured his groin early in the game. He was replaced by Marcus Mariota, who finished the game.

There is no timetable for Carr’s return at this time.

Chargers rookie quarterback Justin Herbert went 22 of 32 for 314 yards. He had two touchdown passes.

Austin Ekeler had 13 carries for 60 yards. Jalen Guyton had four receptions for 91 yards.

Mariota went 17 of 28 for 226 yards. He had one touchdown pass and one interception.

Carr went 3 of 5 for 53 yards before departing the game in the first quarter.

Mariota also led the Raiders with nine carries for 88 yards and a touchdown. Darren Waller also had nine receptions for 150 yards and a touchdown.

Hunter Henry and Tyron Johnson caught touchdown receptions for the Chargers. Kalen Ballage and Herbert scored on rushing touchdowns.

When Herbert scored in overtime, that gave the Chargers the win. At first, it did not appear like he got the ball past the end zone. However, after further review of the play, he landed on the goal line, so the game was over.

Chargers kicker Michael Badgley also made a field goal.

Josh Jacobs — who was hampered in the contest with an injury — and Mariota scored rushing touchdowns for the Raiders. Waller also caught a touchdown reception.

Raiders kicker Daniel Carlson made two field goals.
