Technology is taking over the world. However, there are still people in the world, who refuse to accept it.
Count Pittsburgh Steelers offensive lineman Alejandro Villanueva in that mix. He went back to a flip phone.

Yes, one of those dinosaur phones that are ancient. According to Steelers beat writer Ran Fittipaldo, made the switch at some point this year.

“Every time, he looked at his old phone, he would get upset,” Fittipaldo tweeted out to the world. “He likes being disconnected from the world. He’s said he’s somewhere between a millennial and an Amish person. And he clarified he does have internet access; just no social media.”
Earlier this year, there was some controversy regarding the name on the back of his helmet. This season, the NFL has gone full Black Lives Matter. This has caused fans to tune out at an alarming rate.
Due to the league’s BLM movement, the league asks players to wear names on the back of their helmet with people, who died in the movement. However, Villanueva elected to honor Sgt. First Class Alwyn Cashe instead.

The Steelers are wearing Antwon Rose II’s on their helmets. The 17-year-old was shot and killed on June 19, 2018 by police officer Michael Rosfeld after it was believed that Rose II was involved in a drive-by shooting.
Rose II had gunshot residue on his hand. But the Allegheny County Medical Examiner Daniel Wolfe said ‘the residue was not necessarily the result of Rose firing a gun and could have come from Rosfeld’s weapon.’
At first, Rosfeld was charged with criminal homicide. However, after a trail, he was acquitted on all the charges that he was facing.

“I felt that my decision to honor Sgt. First Class Alwyn Cashe was something that was very personal to me, due to the fact that in the veteran community there’s a strong push to get him a Medal of Honor,” Villanueva said in September.
Villanueva may have made the switch due to backlash on social media for his decision to honor Cashe. If you do not believe in the Democratic view point, they treat you badly and even want to doxx you.
