Werts scored 3 TD’s, as Georgia Southern beats down LaTech in New Orleans Bowl

The Georgia Southern Eagles blew out the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs in the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl. The Eagles won 38-3 over the Bulldogs at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.

This was the first meeting between the two teams.

With the win, the Eagles improved to 8-5 on the season. Georgia Southern ends their season on a good note after losing to the Appalachian State Mountaineers on December 12th.

The Bulldogs fell to 5-5. Louisiana Tech concludes their season with a two-game losing streak, as they were also defeated by the TCU Horned Frogs on December 12th.

Eagles quarterback Shai Werts went 7 of 12 for 126 yards. He had one touchdown pass.

Gerald Green had 16 carries for 108 yards and a touchdown. Khaleb Hood had a 65-yard touchdown reception.

Bulldogs quarterback JD Head went 9 of 14 for 78 yards. He had one interception.

Aaron Allen also went 10 of 24 for 41 yards with three interceptions.

Israel Tucker had 20 carries for 123 yards. Isaiah Graham had three receptions for 26 yards.

Werts had three rushing touchdowns for the Eagles. Green also had a rushing touchdown, as well.

Hood also caught a touchdown reception. Kicker Alex Raynor also made a field goal.

Bulldogs kicker Jacob Barnes made a field goal.
