The No. 6 Oklahoma Sooners defeated the No. 7 Florida Gators in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic. The Sooners won 55-20 over the Gators at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
This was the second-ever meeting between the two teams. In the other meeting, the Gators won 24-14 over the Sooners in the 2009 BCS National Championship in Miami, Florida.
The 55 points are the most by the Sooners in a Bowl game ever. Their previous high was 48 points in a win over the Connecticut Huskies in the 2010 Fiesta Bowl.

Oklahoma also had 48 points in a loss 54-48 loss to the Georgia Bulldogs in double overtime in the Rose Bowl game at the end of the 2017 season.
The Sooners ended their season with a 9-2 record. They ended their season with eight straight wins.
In addition, this was Lincoln Riley’s first Bowl win as the Oklahoma head coach.
The Gators fell to 8-4 with the loss. Florida dropped their last three games of the season.
Florida was without a lot of key players, who elected to not play in the game. Plus, Heisman Trophy candidate Kyle Trask had his worst game of the season.
Sooners quarterback Spencer Rattler went 14 of 23 for 247 yards. He had three touchdown passes.
Rhamondre Stevenson had 18 carries for 186 yards and one touchdown. Seth McGowan had three receptions for 70 yards.
Trask went 16 of 28 for 158 yards. He also had three interceptions.
Emory Jones and Anthony Richardson also completed passes in the game. Richardson also threw a touchdown pass, as well.
Jones had 10 carries for 60 yards and a touchdown. Trent Whittemore had two receptions for 47 yards.

The Sooners led 17-0 before the Gators even scored.
Rattler, Marcus Major, and Stevenson scored rushing touchdowns for the Sooners. Marvin Mims, Theo Wease, and Charleston Rambo caught touchdown receptions.
Gabe Brkic also made two field goals. Tre Norwood also scored on an interception return for a touchdown.
Jones scored on a rushing touchdown for the Gators. Jordan Pouncey also caught a touchdown reception.
Evan McPherson also made two field goals.
