Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz has not been happy with his benching this season. Rookie Jalen Hurts has started the last several games for the team.

With Hurts in the lineup, the offense has seen improvements, as they’re playing better. However, with Wentz, as the starter, the offense was dragging.

According to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen, Wentz is expected to request a trade in the off-season. Mortensen claims that Wentz and Eagles head coach Doug Pederson’s relationship is injured beyond repair.

The asking price for Wentz may be significant. Either a first-round draft pick or a high second-round draft pick.

The most speculated team that may target Wentz is the Indianapolis Colts. The team will need a starting quarterback, as Philip Rivers signed a one-year deal in the off-season.

Head coach Frank Reich previously worked with Wentz. He was the Eagles offensive coordinator when Wentz had his best season during the 2017 season when he was an NFL MVP candidate, before tearing his ACL in December of that season against the Los Angeles Rams.

If this is Wentz’s last game in Philadelphia, he will not even be active. He’ll be inactive against the Washington Football Team on Sunday Night Football.

Hurts is getting his fourth straight start against WFT.

The Eagles are expected to retain Pederson for the 2021 season with changes coming to the coaching staff. However, he does have a meeting on Tuesday with owner Jeffrey Lurie, who is not pleased with how the 2020 season went.

The odds are good that Hurts will be the Eagles’ starter next season with his success in his limited performance thus far.
