He was a member of the Ravens that were defeated by the Buffalo Bills on Saturday night. If he signs with the Packers, it’ll be the third time that he plays for the Packers.
The Ravens released Williams on Monday. He cleared waivers on Tuesday and flew to Green Bay, Wisconsin on Wednesday morning.
He was slated to have his physical on Wednesday. If he had a COVID-19 test, the results should come back on Thursday morning.
If he is cleared, the Packers will have a choice of what to do with Williams. They can sign him to a practice squad roster, or sign him to the 53-man roster.
The Packers are slated to play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. Green Bay hosts the game at historic Lambeau Field in Wisconsin.
The 37-year-old has spent a decade playing for the Packers. He was part of the Packers teams from 2007 through 2014, before returning in 2018. He also played for the team in 2019.
Williams was out of football until November when he signed with the Ravens. He was a backup for all six games that he played in.
In his career, Williams has appeared in 205 games. He has made 153 starts.
He has had 719 tackles, including 14 tackles for a loss and 13 quarterback hits. He has had 4.5 sacks.
Williams has had 34 interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown. He has had six forced fumbles and 13 fumble recoveries while having 153 pass deflections.
