Torrence Racing employee and Nitro Ninja Top Fuel Dragster pilot Dom Lagana has had a long road to his recovery. On Wednesday, Lagana took another step in his recovery.
In a Facebook post, Lagana took his first steps with his prosthetic legs.
“My heart is so full,” Sara Matthias, Lagana’s fiancée, said in a Facebook post. “It’s been almost 6 months since Dom’s accident and today he stood up and took his first steps on prosthetic legs. I’ve never met anyone more positive and more motivated to live life to the fullest. I can’t wait to see what the future brings and I’m so excited to rock this life with you. Thank you SRT Prosthetics!”

In August, Lagana suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash near Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis in Brownsburg, Indiana following the Dodge NHRA Indy Nationals presented by Pennzoil. He was burned from the accident when the Shitbox of Doom struck a utility pole on August 9th.
While Lagana suffered the brunt of the injuries from the accident, Richie Crampton and Jacob Sanders were also injured in the crash. Sanders was released the day after the crash, while Crampton was released sometime later.
Two months later, Lagana returned home. He announced on the day of his return home that both legs were amputated.

With his prosthetics, Lagana is inching closer to returning to a drag strip.
