Bedia was going for the ball against Chennaiyin FC player Deepak Tangri, who landed on top of the FC Goa player. The video then shows Bedia biting his opponent near the waist area.
Bedia has denied the allegations after he got caught.
“Tough game today,” Bedia said on Instagram. “We have to keep fighting to achieve our goal💪🏼⚽️. I want to clarify that on TV it looks like I bite an opponent player when there are only a small struggle and a gesture of anger, but never a bite. Maybe the images make things the way they are but @deepaktangri11 knows what happened.”
Moments later after what appears to be a bite, Tangri appeared to be in a lot of pain. And he rolled away from Bedia.
The teammates of each player decided to stick up for Bedia and Tangri. This caused the opposing teams to get into each other’s faces before being separated.
Bedia received a yellow card for his action. As a result of the yellow card, he received a one-game ban in the Indian Super League.
Also, the All India Football Federation said that Bedia’s action was “in sporting behavior” and received a show-cause notice. He has until today to appeal their ruling.
