The Kentucky Derby Future Wager is a betting game that happens before the Run For The Roses takes place. It is naming the possible racehorses who will run in the Derby. Although these horses are unclear about their bid, their forms are qualified to make a slate in this year’s 146th Kentucky Derby running.

As the most important Derby prep races are coming this March and April, the Kentucky Derby Future Wager third pool is rounding up last weekend. With this in mind, a few horses have been added to the list to make the betting more exciting. These horses are not only listed, but they have accomplished a few races that boosted their form.

While a huge volume of Kentucky Derby betting games is coming in the next few weeks, the Kentucky Derby Future Wager is another venue to know how the odds are calculated through the competition. That said, here are the four horses that generate the most impressive lines in the KDFW Pool 3.

Dream Shake (28-1)

Last Sunday, the horse racing community was rooting for Bezos, but Dream Shake had shown an eye-catching speed that blew away the whole crowd. He took a huge speed to leap towards the end, making his way to win the Maiden Special Weight race at Santa Anita Park. The said victory made him earn a total of $36,000.

Dream Shake is the sire of Even Song. He is owned by Exline-Border Racing LLC, Hausman, and SAF Racing. He was bred by Dunwoody Farm after being consigned by Cary Frommer.

This colt made it to the Kentucky Derby Wager Pool 3 after beating all his competitors last week. It shows that this horse got the right speed from his pedigree and can surely be a tough contender to look forward to in the upcoming Run For The Roses.

Greatest Honour (9-1)

It wasn’t a good start for Greatest Honour last year as he had to make too many attempts before earning his Maiden Special Weight recognition. Last September and October, he had tried working both at Belmont Park and Saratoga but landed in third place. He returned saddling up in November at Aqueduct but only claimed second best.

Like every colt dreaming of making his form excellent, he got lucky in his fourth try at Gulfstream Park last September. Proving that his skills were no fluke, Greatest Honour dazzled at the Holy Bull Stakes, taking home the pot prize. This victory has led to his entry into the Kentucky Derby Futures Pool 3.

Greatest Honour is bred and owned by Courtlandt Farms. He is an entry by Jose L. Ortiz and Claude R. McGaughey III. After accomplishing five racing starts, Greatest Honour earned $175,240.

Medina Spirit (25-1)

By only winning a neck in the Robert B. Lewis Stakes, Medina Spirit is onboard for the 2021 Kentucky Derby Futures. This racehorse is an entry by Bob Baffert and Abel Cedillo, who accomplished three racing finishes since bright. He got his impressive pace from Mongolian Changa, which was his sire.

Medina Spirit started working out last December at Los Alamito, winning his Maiden Special Weight recognition right away. After that, he made his way to Santa Anita, competing in the Sham Stakes, where he landed in second place. With his current achievements, Medina Spirit’s lines are looking impressive in the Kentucky Derby Futures.

The Great One (38-1)

The sire of Nyquist is making a good impression in the Kentucky Derby Future Wager. Trained by Doug F. O’Neill and ridden by Abel Cedillo, The Great One is another strong contender that might earn the Kentucky Derby title in the next few months. He has already made five racing games since birth.

This colt started competing last September 2020 at the Speakeasy Stakes. Despite a debut run, he garnered 6th place. To make a more solid ground, The Great One attended two Maiden Special Weight, and both landed in fourth place. He didn’t stop working out and gained second place in Los Alamitos Futurity.

Last January, he garnered his first Maiden Special Weight title at Santa Anita Park. With all these achievements, The Great One is making his way to this week’s Kentucky Derby Futures and will indeed perform in the trails.

Takeaway

The Kentucky Derby Future Wager has named another possible horse who is capable of winning the title. Although big favorites have started working out to build a better resume, these horses are hustling hard to earn their spot in the 2021 Run For The Roses.

With these names coming out in the KDFW, you can bet on them as early as now to show up at Churchill Downs this May. Like the many betting games you know in the Derby, it helps you earn considerably when you hit the bullseye.
