The Kansas Jayhawks have placed head football coach Les Miles on administrative leave. The school will conduct a full investigation into an allegation from the past.
Once the allegation is complete, Miles will have to wait to determine his future. The school is looking into a matter that dates back to 2013 when he was the LSU Tigers head coach.
“Even though the allegations against him occurred at LSU, we take these matters very seriously at KU,” Kansas athletic director Jeff Long said in a statement Friday. “Now that we have access to this information, we will take the coming days to fully review the material and to see if any additional information is available.
“I do not want to speculate on a timeline for our review because it is imperative we do our due diligence.”
There was a report that was released on Thursday that indicated that there was an internal probe that accused Miles of inappropriate behavior towards females. He allegedly met them off campus and kissed one of them.
Miles reportedly did not have any sexual relationships with the women. The football coach denied kissing the female student.
On Friday, there was a new report that came to light that indicated that former LSU athletic director Joe Alleva wanted to fire Miles in 2013 once he found out about the accusations. However, the school kept him in the role for several more seasons.
The Jayhawks hired Miles in November 2018. He received a five-year contract from the school.
Since being hired, he has gone 3-18 in two seasons.
