Scrappers Racing Top Alcohol Dragster driver Jasmine Salinas was involved in an accident on Saturday at the historic 52nd annual Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals. She had a blow-over accident at Gainesville Raceway in Gainesville, Florida.

Salinas — who returned to the track this season after sitting out last season — first experienced the dragster coming up in the front end shortly down the track in her pairing with Karen Stalba. She was then able to get the dragster back onto the track.

Moments later, Salinas — the daughter of Top Fuel Dragster pilot Mike Salinas — lost control of her dragster about mid-way down the track. The blow-over caused the dragster to go across the drag strip then go over the left-side wall.

The dragster landed behind the scoreboard. The NHRA Safety Safari then rushed to her aid to help her.

She was able to exit the dragster on her own. There was a 45-minute delay due to the crash.

Salinas is the No. 2 qualifier in the class for eliminations. However, due to the crash, Tom Fox Jr. will receive a bye into the second round since Salinas will not be able to make the call.

She has been transported to a local hospital for further evaluation. At this time, there is no more information available on her condition.
