In a February accident, an SUV that he was driving went off of the road and rolled over. His accident happened several days after the Genesis Invitational that happened near Los Angeles.
“Happy to report that I am back home and continuing my recovery,” Woods said in a tweet posted Tuesday night. “I am so grateful for the outpouring of support and encouragement that I have received over the past few weeks.”
Due to the accident, Woods had to have his leg reconstructed following tibia and fibula injuries. He had to have a rod inserted into his tibia.
“I will be recovering at home and working on getting stronger every day,” Woods said in the statement.
As Woods recovers from his latest injuries, there’s no timetable for the golf legend to return to the golf course. There was a chance that he could have played in the 2021 Masters; however, with this accident, those odds are slim now.
