The Buffalo Sabres fired head coach Ralph Krueger was fired on Wednesday morning. No interim head coach has been announced at this time.
Sabres GM Kevyn Adams is expected to name an interim head coach at a presently ongoing press conference. The interim head coach will lead the Sabres back onto the ice on Thursday night at the KeyBank Center against the Boston Bruins in Buffalo, New York.

Krueger’s final game leading the team was on Tuesday, March 16th. The New Jersey Devils defeated the Sabres, 3-2, at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

“It was an excellent effort, but we are not rewarded for effort, we are rewarded for results,” Krueger said after the game. “It’s very painful at the moment, frustrating. Opportunity was there. We came here to win and we didn’t get it.
“Not getting it done in a game that we actually had the upper hand is really disappointing at this time.”
Krueger spent the last year and a half leading the team. However, the team is currently in a 12-game winless streak, as they are 0-10-2.
