Tasca III goes back-to-back; wins final Atlanta Wally

Tasca III defeated living legend John Force to win the final Wally at Atlanta Dragway. The Hope, Rhode Island native went 4.004 at 326.48 mph to claim the Wally at the 40th annual Lucas Oil NHRA Southern Nationals in Commerce, Georgia. The PEAK sponsored driver went 4.015 at 321.81 mph. \”There\’s nobody who has done it better than Force over the years and it\’s an honor to roll up next to him, but there\’s nobody I get up for more and to beat him in the final, it\’s great,\” Tasca III said. \”I want to thank all the Atlanta fans. It\’s so special to be here and see this place sold out. There\’s so many great memories and it\’s so great to leave with the trophy. For all those Ford fans and all the Ford family members that called me (after the last race) after winning Vegas, we did it again.\” Tasca III also won two straight during the 2019 season. He first won the NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals, then won the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals the very next weekend in June 2019. Before this final round, Tasca III held an 18-14 advantage over Ford. Tasca III also had a previous final round win over Force. The living legend had the starting line advantage. However, Tasca III took the lead by the 60-foot mark. The two went back and forth, as Force regained the lead by the 330-foot mark. Tasca III clipped Force at the finish line. He won by 0.0038 seconds, or approx. 22 inches. This is Tasca III\’s eighth career win.
