Charbonnet scores 3 TDs as Bruins beat Rainbow Warriors in season-opener

The UCLA Bruins defeated the Hawai’i Rainbow Warriors on Saturday. The Bruins won 44-10 over the Rainbow Warriors at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.

The Bruins improved to 1-0 on the season. The Rainbow Warriors fell to 0-1.

Bruins quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson went 10 of 20 for 130 yards. He had one touchdown pass.

Zach Charbonnet had six carries for 106 yards and three touchdowns. Kazmeir Allen had two receptions for 47 yards and a touchdown.

Rainbow Warriors quarterback Chevan Cordeiro went 25 of 47 for 220 yards. He had one touchdown pass and two interceptions.

Dae Dae Hunter had seven carries for 20 yards. Hunter also led the receivers with seven receptions for 19 yards.

The Bruins outscored the Rainbow Warriors 13-7 at halftime. Thompson-Robinson hit Allen for a 44-yard touchdown reception.

David Priebe scored on a punt return in the end zone.

Rainbow Warriors scored when Cordeiro hit Caleb Phillips for a one-yard touchdown reception.

The Bruins led 31-3 at halftime. Charbonnet scored three first-half touchdowns.

Brittain Brown scored on a one-yard rushing touchdown. Nicholas Barr-Mira also made a field goal.

Rainbow Warriors kicker Matthew Shipley made a field goal.
