The No. 2 Oklahoma Sooners defeated the Tulane Green Wave on Saturday. The Sooners won 40-35 over the Green Wave at Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in Norman, Oklahoma.
With the win, the Sooners improved to 1-0 on the season. The Green Wave fell to 0-1.
Sooners quarterback Spencer Rattler went 30 of 39 for 304 yards. He had one touchdown pass and two interceptions.
Kennedy Brooks had 14 carries for 87 yards and a touchdown. Marvin Mims had five receptions for 117 yards.
Green Wave quarterback Michael Pratt went 27 of 44 for 296 yards. He had three touchdown passes.
Pratt led the backs with 15 carries for 34 yards and a touchdown. Tyrick James had six receptions for 93 yards.
The Sooners were held to just three points in the second half. The Green Wave outscored them 21-3 in the final two quarters.
Tulane’s Pratt scored on a four-yard rushing touchdown. Following the play, Duece Watts scored on a two-point conversion.
Pratt also connected with Cameron Carroll for a five-yard touchdown reception. The two-point conversion failed after the score.
Pratt threw his second touchdown of the half when he hit Will Wallace for a five-yard touchdown reception.
Sooners kicker Gabe Brkic made a 55-yard field goal.
Oklahoma led 37-14 at halftime. Rattler scored on a one-yard rushing touchdown.
Caleb Williams also scored on a one-yard rushing touchdown. Brooks also scored on a one-yard rushing touchdown.
Rattler hit Mario Williams for a six-yard touchdown reception. Brkic made three first-half field goals.
Pratt hit Carroll for a six-yard touchdown reception for the Green Wave in the first half. Jaetavian Toles also scored on a 15-yard rushing touchdown.
