Rebels beat down the Cardinals in 2021 season-opener

By Anthony Caruso III | Publisher The Ole Miss Rebels defeated the Louisville Cardinals on Monday night. The Rebels won 43-24 over the Cardinals at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. With the win, the Rebels improved to 1-0 on the season. The Cardinals fell to 0-1. Rebels quarterback Matt Corral went 22 of 32 for 381 yards. He had one touchdown pass. Snoop Conner had eight carries for 60 yards and two touchdowns. Dontario Drummond had nine receptions for 177 yards and one touchdown. Cardinals quarterback Malik Cunningham went 22 of 37 for 191 yards. He had one touchdown pass and one interception. Cunningham had 18 carries for 79 yards and two touchdowns. Josh Johnson had six receptions for 40 yards. The Cardinals outscored the Rebels 24-17 in the second half. Cunningham hit Braden Smith for a four-yard touchdown reception. Cunningham also scored on a one-yard rushing touchdown. He also added a nine-yard rushing touchdown. James Turner also made a 38-yard field goal. Rebels’ Conner scored on an 11-yard rushing touchdown. Corral hit Drummond for a six-yard touchdown reception. Caden Costa also made a 38-yard field goal. The Rebels led 26-0 at halftime. Corral scored on a six-yard rushing touchdown. Conner also scored on a one-yard rushing touchdown. Jerrion Early also scored on a one-yard rushing touchdown. Costa also made two field goals.
