Georgia Bulldogs linebacker Adam Anderson has been suspended indefinitely by the team. He is allegedly involved in a rape.

According to the authorities, Anderson allegedly raped a 21-year-old woman before the game with the Florida Gators in Jacksonville, Florida. She claims that she had some drinks at a residence in Athens, Georgia.

At some point, she claims that Anderson was on top of her having non-consensual sex before she woke up. No other information has been provided at this time.

Anderson has not been arrested for the alleged crime. However, ESPN spoke with Athens-Clarke County Police lieutenant Shaun Barnett, who said that there is an “open investigation.”

While his teammates are going to pursue their undefeated season, Anderson has been banned from the team while the matter can be investigated. Anderson’s attorney Steve Sadow said to TMZ Sports that the allegations are “unfounded and unsupported.”

“Adam hopes and prays the UGA community, and the public keep an open mind and not prejudge him based on inconsistent, unsubstantiated, and baseless accusations,” Sadow said.

This investigation may several months. Thus, his college football career may be over, as it is not expected that the matter will be resolved before the end of the college football season in January.

Depending on how long this plays out, Anderson may or may not be able to garner NFL interest.

The senior appeared in seven games before the suspension. He has had 18 tackles, including 5.5 tackles for a loss.

He has had 5.5 sacks with one pass deflection.
