The 2022 College Football Playoff National Championship will feature the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide and the No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs. This high-profile contest will be played at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.
In this story, we’ll compare the two teams’ running-backs situations. The Crimson Tide’s focus has been around Brian Robinson Jr., who has surpassed 1,000 yards on the season.
Robinson Jr. – who continued to stay around the program after being the backup for several other key backs in program history – has had 248 carries for 1,268 yards and 14 touchdowns. After Robinson Jr., there is a big gap.

Outside of Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young, who is a quarterback, Trey Sanders was the next back with 70 carries for 309 yards and two touchdowns on the season.
The Bulldogs backfield has been more well-balanced. Zamir White led the Dawgs with 147 carries for 772 yards and 10 touchdowns.
James Cook also carried the football 107 times for 651 yards and seven more touchdowns. Kenny McIntosh also had 56 carries for 322 yards and three more touchdowns.
While Robinson Jr. is a big focus of the Crimson Tide offense, the Bulldogs have the better overall attack, as several players can carry the rock and give the others a rest when needed.
