The Kansas City Chiefs had to come from behind to defeat the Denver Broncos. The Chiefs won 28-24 over the Broncos at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver, Colorado.

With the win, the Chiefs improved to 12-5 on the season. Kansas City goes into the playoffs on a one-game win streak.

The Broncos fell to 7-10 with the loss. Denver ends their season on a four-game losing streak.

In the coming days, the team will make a decision on head coach Vic Fangio. The belief around the league is that GM George Paton will decide to bring in his own guy once the team parts ways with Fangio.

Denver has now had five straight losing seasons.

The Chiefs are presently the No. 2 seed in the AFC playoffs. There is a chance that the team could recapture the top seed in the playoffs on Sunday.

The Tennessee Titans will need to lose to the Houston Texans for the Chiefs to get the top seed.

Kansas City leads the all-time series 69-55. The Chiefs are currently on a 13 game win streak over the Broncos.

Denver’s last win in the series came on September 17th, 2015 in a 31-24 win.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes II went 27 of 44 for 270 yards. He also threw two touchdown passes.

Mahomes II led the team in rushing with nine carries for 54 yards. Mecole Hardman had eight receptions for 103 yards.

Broncos quarterback Drew Lock went 12 of 24 for 162 yards.

Melvin Gordon III had 12 carries for 110 yards and one touchdown. Tim Patrick had six receptions for 95 yards.

The Chiefs outscored the Broncos 18-10 in the second half. Nick Bolton returned an 86-yard fumble return for a touchdown.

Mahomes II converted a two-point conversation after Bolton’s touchdown. Jerick McKinnon caught a 14-yard touchdown reception from Mahomes II.

Harrison Butker also made a 51-yard field goal.

Broncos’ Gordon III scored on a 47-yard rushing touchdown. Brandon McManus also made a 31-yard field goal.
