Golfer Tiger Woods will not play in the U.S. Open. He announced his leg — which he recently had surgery on — is not healed enough for him to compete.
Woods did not reveal how long it would be before he could compete once again.

“My body needs more time to get stronger for major championship golf,” Woods said in a tweet on Tuesday morning.

In February 2021, Woods was involved in a very bad car accident that significantly injured his leg.
Earlier this year, he competed in the Masters and PGA Championship. However, he was hampered by leg injury that he suffered from the car accident.
Woods did well in the Masters in the first two rounds. However, in the final two rounds, he did not do so well.
Then, one month later at the PGA Championship, he was laboring with his leg. He completed three rounds, before withdrawing from the fourth round.

“I’m excited to get back out there soon!” Woods said.
He is hoping that he can compete in the upcoming The Open Championship that begins on July 14th.
