Andy Jankowski wins Atlantic City’s 2023 Friday night TQ Midget feature

Atlantic City, NJ — Race car driver Andy Jankowski has won the NAPA Gamblers Classic Friday night feature. He won the TQ Midget 40-lap feature at the Boardwalk Hall.

Jankowski will attempt to win the Gamblers Classic on Saturday, too. He has won three of the last four Gamblers Classic.

He won the event in 2019, 2020, and 2021. Ryan Flores was initially credited with the 2022 win.

However, the win was later taken from him after a disqualification. The win was later credited to Tim Buckwalter.

After the 25-lap restart, Jankowiak was in the front with Briggs Danner. However, by lap 30, Danner and Erick Rudolph collided and spun out.

Jankowiak first got the lead with eight laps to go. NASCAR Team Penske crew member Flores was right behind him with Tommy Catalano and Tim Buckwalter nearby.

There were two restarts in the final laps. This caused Catalano to get in front of Jankowiak briefly.

However, Catalano had problems with his engine with two laps to go. Jankowiak retook the lead and never relinquished it.

Buckwalter finished second. He was 0.842 seconds behind Jankowiak. He also won the first heat of the night.

Anthony Sesely, who started the feature from the 19th position, rounded out the Top 3. He was 0.927 seconds behind Jankowiak.

Catalano and Mike Christopher Jr. rounded out the Top 5.

Tyler Wagner, Rudolph, Matt Swanson, and Jeremy Haudricourt also won the four other heat races.
