The Indianapolis Colts have found their new head coach. However, an official announcement will not be made for a few days.
The Colts have zeroed in on Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Shane Steichen. The team has informed the other candidates of their decision.
Steichen would replace interim head coach Jeff Saturday. He would also be the second Eagles offensive coordinator to be hired by the Colts after their Super Bowl game.

Following the 2017 season, the Colts hired Frank Reich as their head coach. Reich was the Eagles’ offensive coordinator when they won the Super Bowl over the New England Patriots.
This will be the first head coaching opportunity for the 37-year-old. Steichen has spent the past two seasons as the Eagles offensive coordinator.
Before joining Nick Sirianni’s staff, he was the Los Angeles Chargers offensive coordinator in 2020. During the 2019 season, he began the season as quarterbacks coach before being promoted to interim offensive coordinator.
Steichen was a member of the Chargers staff from 2014 through 2020.

Before joining the Chargers staff, he also worked for the Cleveland Browns in 2013. His first stint with the San Diego Chargers began in 2011 and lasted two seasons as their defensive assistant.
He began his coaching career with the Louisville Cardinals in 2010 as their offensive assistant.
