No. 15-seeded Princeton MBB defeats No. 7 Missouri in Sacramento

The No. 15-seeded Princeton Tigers continue to march on in the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. The New Jersey-based Tigers defeated the No. 7-seeded Missouri Tigers on 78-63 Tigers on Saturday at the Golden1 Center in Sacramento, California.

With the win, the Tigers advance to the Sweet 16. At this time, the team does not know who their opponent will be.

They will play the winner of Sunday’s Baylor Bears and the Creighton Bluejays next week in Louisville, Kentucky. The Bears are the third seed and the Bluejays are the sixth seed.

Princeton improved to 23-8 on the season. Missouri fell to 25-10.

There were two lead changes in the game. The contest was tied just once.

Ryan Langborg led the Tigers with 22 points. He also had six rebounds, four assists, and one steal.

Langborg was one of three players for the Princeton, New Jersey team, who scored in double digits. Blake Peters had 17 and Matt Allocco and 10 points.

Princeton’s starters had 58 points. Their bench had 20 bench points. Peters led the bench with the aforementioned 17 points.

DeAndre Gholston led the Columbia, Missouri Tigers with 19 points. He also had four rebounds and three assists.

Gholston was one of three players, who scored in double features. Noah Carter had 14 and Kobe Brown added 12.

Their starters scored 55 points. The bench had just eight points. Sean East II scored all eight bench points.
