According to previous reports, the Las Vegas Raiders named Kliff Kingsbury as their new offensive coordinator. However, now that will not be the case.

He has removed his name from consideration, according to NFL Network’s Peter Schrager. He is reporting that contract negotiations between the sides fell apart.

This led to Kingsbury to withdraw his name from consideration. Now, head coach Antonio Pierce will have to find a new coordinator.

Kingsbury was set to return to the NFL with the move. He may return to the NFL or remain with the Southern California Trojans.

In 2023, he was their offensive analyst and quarterbacks coach.

Before being hired by the Trojans, he was the Arizona Cardinals head coach, where he spent four seasons. As the Cardinals head coach, he went 28-37.

NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo is reporting that Kingsbury is in the mix for the Washington Commanders offensive coordinator job.

Pierce selected Kingsbury over former Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Luke Getsy and Pittsburgh Steelers quarterbacks coach Mike Sullivan. Since then, neither coach has been hired by another team.

There is no clear-cut favorite for the job right now.

Whoever gets the job will have to try to get a quarterback for the franchise. Their quarterback situation is not very good right now.

The team is expected to release Jimmy Garoppolo after a six-game stretch with the team where he served as their starting quarterback. Aidan O’Connell will be in the mix as he showed some promise after backing up Garoppolo.

The team may target Kirk Cousins, who may be the most intriguing player at the quarterback position in the off-season. He is going to come with a very high price tag.

Plus, he is coming off an Achilles injury that may hamper him, as well.
