Parts Plus Top Fuel Dragster driver Clay Millican has won the biggest race of his life in the NHRA. The multi-time IHRA Top Fuel Champion has won the prestigious 70th annual Toyota NHRA U.S. Nationals at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park in Brownsburg, Indiana.
The Tennessee native defeated Texan Steve Torrence in the final round. Millican went 3.792 at 327.82 mph to get the win.
The Capco Contractors Top Fuel Dragster driver went 4.317 at 192.30 in the losing effort.

Millican picked up his seventh Top Fuel Wally in the NHRA. However, this is his first win of the season. He will always be remembered as a U.S. Nationals winner now.
According to Dragracecentral.com, this is just the third time in the past 70 years that the No. 13 qualifier has won the U.S. Nationals.
Before this final round, Torrence led with a 20-10 advantage against Millican. He also was a perfect 3-0 in the prior final rounds.
Torrence had the starting line advantage. However, he began to haze the tires.

The Texan caused an oil-down penalty. This was his second of the season and caused him to lose 10 points.
Millican made a perfect pass as he went straight down the groove.
