The New York Knicks and the Minnesota Timberwolves have now made their blockbuster deal a three-team deal, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania. The Charlotte Hornets have now entered into the mix.

The Knicks received Karl-Anthony Towns. The Timberwolves received Julius Randle, Donte DiVincenzo, and a first-round draft pick that originally belonged to the Detroit Pistons.

Charania reports that the Knicks are shedding salary in a salary dump to the Hornets. New York has sent DaQuan Jeffries to Charlotte, North Carolina.

In addition, the Hornets also received draft compensation. However, at press time, it is not clear what the draft compensation is.

Also, it is not clear at press time if Jeffries will remain with the team. Or be released in the days ahead.

The 27-year-old Jeffries was undrafted and made his NBA debut in November 2019. Since that time, he has bounced around the league.

He has spent time with the Sacramento Kings, Knicks, Houston Rockets, and the Memphis Grizzlies. Jeffries has not spent more than 18 games in a season with a team.

Jeffries spent 18 games with the Kings during the 2020-21 season. He has also made five starts during that season, including three with the Kings and two with the Rockets.

This past season, he appeared in 17 games with the Knicks. He averaged 0.8 points per game as a reserve.

Jeffries also averaged 0.3 rebounds, 0.3 assists, and 0.1 blocks per contest.
