Kattus scores late TD, as Kentucky upsets No. 6 Ole Miss

The Kentucky Wildcats have pulled off an upset against the No. 6 Ole Miss Rebels. The Wildcats won 20-17 over the Rebels at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Mississippi.

This was the Wildcats’ first win in the series in 13 years. Their last win before Saturday’s game on November 5th, 2011, when they won 30-13.

However, one has to go much further to find their last win in the series in Mississippi. It was a 24-17 win over the Rebels on October 14th, 1978.

With the win, the Wildcats improved to 3-2 on the season. This was their first conference win of the season, as they are now 1-2 in the Southeastern Conference.

The Rebels suffered their first loss of the season, as they fell to 4-1 overall. They are now 0-1 in the SEC.

Wildcats quarterback Brock Vandagriff went 18 of 28 for 243 yards. He had one touchdown pass.

Demie Sumo-Karngbaye led the backs with 11 carries for 47 yards. Dane Key had eight receptions for 105 yards and one touchdown reception.

Rebels quarterback Jaxson Dart went 18 of 27 for 261 yards. He had one touchdown pass.

Henry Parrish Jr. had 13 carries for 62 yards and a touchdown. Tre Harris had 11 receptions for 176 yards and one touchdown.

Both teams scored 10 points in the second half. Wildcats’ Josh Kattus scored on a two-yard rushing touchdown.

Alex Raynor also made a 48-yard field goal.

Rebels’ Dart hit Harris for a 48-yard touchdown reception. Caden Davis also made a 31-yard field goal.

Kentucky led 10-7 at halftime. Vandagriff hit Key for a five-yard touchdown reception.

Raynor also made a 27-yard field goal.

Rebels’ Parrish Jr. scored on a one-yard rushing touchdown.
