This was just the third meeting between the teams since the 2010 season. South Carolina won the 2010 meeting with a 35-21 score on October 9th, 2010.

The Gamecocks had a shot in the game until the very end. South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers was picked off by Domani Jackson with 13 seconds left.

Alabama then ran out the clock for the win.

South Carolina was down two points and attempted an onside kick after scoring a touchdown late. Alabama was not able to recover the ball, despite having two players touch the ball.

The Gamecocks recovered the ball. Yet, it then led to the Sellers interception on the late drive.

South Carolina believed that they had scored a touchdown that led to the onside kick. Sellers hit Nyck Harbor for a 31-yard touchdown reception.

The broadcast team said that they initially believed that Harbor was out of bounds. The replay showed that Harbor was in bounds and it was a touchdown.

Following the score, the Gamecocks failed to convert the two-point conversion.

Late in the third quarter, the Gamecocks were leading. And this put the Crimson Tide fans in a tough position to potentially be upset in back-to-back weeks by unranked teams.

Last weekend, the Vanderbilt Commodores upset the Crimson Tide 40-35 in Nashville, Tennessee.

Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe went 16 of 23 for 209 yards. He had one touchdown pass and two interceptions.

Jam Miller had 12 carries for 42 yards. Germie Bernard had four receptions for 89 and one touchdown.

Sellers went 23 of 31 for 238 yards. He had two touchdown passes and one interception.

Raheim Sanders had 16 carries for 78 yards and one touchdown. Mazeo Bennett Jr. had three receptions for 57 yards and one touchdown.

Each team scored 13 points in the second half. Milroe scored on a seven-yard rushing touchdown.

Milroe hit Bernard for a 34-yard touchdown reception.

South Carolina’s Sanders scored on a one-yard rushing touchdown. Sellers hit Harbor with the aforementioned touchdown late.

Alabama led 14-12 at halftime. Milroe scored on a one-yard rushing touchdown.

Justice Haynes scored on a 2-yard rushing touchdown.
