The Minnesota Timberwolves have re-signed center Rudy Gobert. He will now be a part of their team for the foreseeable future.
Senior NBA Insider Shams Charania broke the news. Gobert has agreed to a three-year, $110 million extension.

As part of this agreement, Gobert will decline his $46.6 million player option for the 2025-26 season. He will now be a part of the Timberwolves — barring a trade — until the 2027-28 season.

Charania is also reporting that the final year of this agreement is a player option.
Gobert — who has been in the league for the past 11 seasons — is entering his third season with the Timberwolves. He was acquired by the team in a blockbuster deal before the 2022-23 season.
Before being acquired by the Timberwolves, Gobert spent nine seasons with the Utah Jazz. He was the 27th overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft by the Denver Nuggets before being traded to the Jazz.
Last season, Gobert made 76 starts with the team. He averaged 14 points per game with 12.9 rebounds.
The French man also averaged 1.3 assists, 0.7 steals, and 2.1 blocks per contest.
The 14 points per game average was the most he scored in two seasons. It was the most since he averaged 15.6 points per game in his final season in 2021-22 with the Jazz.
The three-time All-Star is a four-time Defensive Player of the Year. He has been named to the All-Defensive Team seven times.

According to Basketball Reference, he is projected to score 15.2 points per game. He is also projected to average 13.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 0.8 steals, and 2.0 blocks per game.
Gobert is now a part of their core for the years ahead and features Anthony Edwards as the face of their franchise. Karl-Anthony Towns was the face of the franchise for a decade before being traded in September as part of a multi-team deal that saw Julius Randle, Donte DiVincenzo, and a future first-round pick going to Minnesota.
