The Kansas City Chiefs acquired outside linebacker Josh Uche on Monday. In exchange, the New England Patriots for a 2026 sixth-round draft pick.

The 26-year-old now goes to the only undefeated team in the NFL. He will get a chance to prove himself, as either the Chiefs or another team seeks him out in the off-season.

He was a second-round pick by the Patriots in the 2020 NFL Draft.

The Chiefs need some edge help, as Michael Danna is sidelined with an injury. Uche will be in a lineup as a rotational player that also features rotational players George Karlaftis and Felix Anudike-Uzomah in Steve Spagnuolo’s defensive unit.

On Sunday, he was a healthy scratch as the Patriots looked to move him. On the season, Uche appeared in seven games with one start.

He has had 13 tackles with two tackles for a loss and three quarterback hits. Uche also has 2.0 sacks.

Uche has had 5.0 sacks in parts of the last two seasons. If you had up his four seasons subtracting the 2022 season, his sack total does not add up to his one stellar season.
