“When Dallas went out ahead of me in round one and I knew it’s time to time to take advantage of the situation, I missed the tree a little bit and got away with it,” Stanfield said. “I got a little pissed off after that and got my head back together and drove well for the rest of the weekend.

“The pressure meter is maxed out, but pressure is a privilege and I’m not afraid of it. I feel like the majority of the time I do well under pressure, and we did exactly what we needed to do this weekend. We had some luck go our way, and we took advantage of it.”

With the win, Stanfield is the new Pro Stock points leader with 2,587. He is just 32 points ahead of second-place Dallas Glenn, who has 2,555 points. Anderson is third, as he is just 56 points out with 2,531.

Before this final round, Stanfield held a 14-5 advantage over Anderson. He also held a 2-1 advantage over Anderson in the final rounds.

Stanfield won the race by 0.0057 seconds. Or approximately 21 inches.

Now, Stanfield has six wins this season. It is also his 14th win in the Pro Stock class.

“I have the greatest guys out here at the track, I have all the confidence in them,” Stanfield said. “We had some different conditions today with it being a little cooler and really windy. These Pro Stock cars can be tricky when there’s not as many cars out on (the) track. I have to thank JHG, Jason and Nikki Johnson, the Melling Brothers who are here this week, and we’re going to visit at SEMA tomorrow, Joe Janac, (and) all the Elite boys. This was a big win for us.”
