2024 NASCAR Cup Series Championship Preview

The NASCAR Cup Series will crown its new champion on Sunday at Phoenix Raceway in Avondale, Arizona.

The 312 laps will determine whether Joey Logano, Ryan Blaney, William Byron, or Tyler Reddick will win the Championship. Blaney is attempting to win it for the second straight year.

Team Penske will be attempting to win their third straight championship. Logano won in 2022 and Blaney won in 2023.

There are 40 cars entered for the Cup Championship. Drivers in Chevrolets will drive the bulk of the cars.

Byron, who will be sponsored by Axalta, will be driving a Chevrolet. HendrickCars.com-sponsored driver Kyle Larson will also be in a Chevrolet.

Their Hendrick Motorsports teammate Chase Elliott, who will be sponsored by NAPA Auto Parts, will also be in a Chevrolet. Trackhouse Racing driver Daniel Suarez, who is sponsored by Freeway Insurance, will be competing in a Chevrolet.

Alex Bowman, who is sponsored by Ally, will be driving a Chevrolet. Spire Motorsports driver Carson Hocevar, who is sponsored by Delaware Life, is competing in a Chevrolet.

Trackhouse Racing driver Ross Chastain, who is sponsored by Busch Light, is driving a Chevrolet. Richard Childress Racing driver Kyle Busch will be sponsored by 3CHI and is competing in a Chevrolet.

Kaulig Racing driver Daniel Hemric, who is sponsored by Cirkul, will be driving a Chevrolet. His Kaulig teammate Derek Kraug, who is sponsored by Western States Flooring, is competing in a Chevrolet.

Richard Childress Racing driver Austin Dillon, who is sponsored by Dow, is driving a Chevrolet. Spire Motorsports driver Justin Haley, who is sponsored by Parity Week by Gainbridge, is competing in a Chevrolet.

JTG-Daugherty Racing driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr., who is sponsored by Fry’s and Silk, is competing in a Chevrolet. Driver J.J. Yeley, who did not have a primary sponsor mentioned, is also competing in a Chevrolet.

Team AmeriVet driver Jeb Burton, who is sponsored by Luxedo, is competing in a Chevrolet. Spire Motorsports driver Zane Smith, who is sponsored by Focused Health, is also in a Chevrolet for the race.

Logano will be sponsored by Shell Pennzoil for the race and is competing in a Ford. Blaney will be sponsored by Menards and Richmond Water Heaters for this particular race and is also competing in a Ford.

RFK Racing driver Chris Buescher, who will be sponsored by Fastenal, will be in a Ford. Stewart-Haas Racing driver Noah Gragson will be sponsored by Nitro Circus and will be driving a Ford in this race.

Pense driver Austin Cindric will be sponsored by Discount Tire and will be driving a Ford. RFK Racing driver Brad Keselowski, who will be sponsored by BuildSubmarines.com, will be driving a Ford.

Wood Brothers driver Harrison Burton, who is sponsored by Motorcraft Quick Lane, is driving a Ford for this race. Front Row Motorsports driver Todd Gilliland, who is sponsored by Boozy Jerky!, is driving a Ford.

Stewart Haas Racing driver Josh Berry is sponsored by Texas A&M University and is driving a Ford. His Stewart Haas Racing teammate Chase Briscoe, who is sponsored by Mahindra Tractors, is also driving a Ford.

Front Row Motorsports driver Michael McDowell is driving the Love’s and Fleetguard sponsored entry, which is also a Ford. Rick Ware Racing driver Corey LaJoie is driving a Ford, which is sponsored by Mighty Fire Breaker.

Rick Ware Racing teammate Kaz Grala, who is sponsored by Meat N’ Bone, is driving a Ford. MBM Motorsports driver Chad Finchum, who is sponsored by 2One Pouches, is also driving a Ford.

Stewart Haas Racing driver Ryan Preece, who is sponsored by HaasTooling.com, is competing in a Ford.

Joe Gibbs Racing driver Christopher Bell, who is sponsored by Interstate Batteries, is driving a Toyota. 23XI Racing driver Tyler Reddick, who is sponsored by The Beast Unleashed, is also driving a Toyota.

Reddick’s 23XI Racing teammate Bubba Wallace, who is sponsored by Columbia Sportswear Company, is driving a Toyota in the race. Joe Gibbs Racing driver Denny Hamlin, who is sponsored by FedEx, is also driving a Toyota.

Martin Truex Jr. is competing in his final Cup Series race as a full-time driver. Truex Jr., who is driving the Bass Pro Shops entry for Joe Gibbs Racing, is also in a Toyota.
