According to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the New Orleans Saints are expected to place wide receiver Chris Olave on injured reserve. He was designated with a concussion after a massive hit in the team’s last game against the woeful Carolina Panthers.

Olave had already been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons. Rapoport reports that he will be moved to injured reserve later today.

He is expected to miss at least the next four games with the move to injured reserve. However, given the severity of the hit and the Saints’ woeful record, this may be moved to a season-ending injury.

Yet, that move — if it is made- will be made at a later day after the initial four-game injury.

After a massive hit to the head, he was placed on a backboard and carted off the field. This was his second concussion of the season – and his fifth overall in his career.

Olave was the 11th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. The 24-year-old has spent the last three seasons with the Saints.

He had one reception for 13 yards in the 23-22 loss to the Panthers. On the season, he has had 32 receptions for 400 yards in eight starts. He has also had one touchdown reception.

Olave also had one carry for seven yards.
