Katie Taylor won a controversial decision over Amanda Serrano on Friday night. Taylor won a unanimous decision 95-94 win over Serrano on the Netflix special Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Taylor has won both of the fights with Serrano. The Puerto Rico native has just three losses in her career.

“That’s what Boxing is,” Taylor said. “We trained so hard to recover from those moments. Any guy you punch can change a fight in Boxing. She’s a hard puncher, she’s a very tough warrior, and always prepared for that.

“I don’t care if the commentary team or the crowd disagree, because we’ll tell you what everyone’s about, the judges around the ring. So thank God.”

The Ireland native — who now calls Connecticut home — remains the undisputed 140 champion. Serrano moved up three weight classes for this right.

Both women were throwing haymakers and going back and forth. Before the fifth round, Serrano suffered a gash to her eye.

Despite the cut, Serrano was able to keep going and finish the fight. Taylor reportedly gave Serrano four head butts, according to the referee.

In the eighth round, Taylor had a point dedication for a head butt after countless warnings.

“Well I definitely agree with the point deduction, but my strategy wasn’t fighting dirty,” Taylor said. “Sometimes it gets rough in there, and you have to prepare for those moments.”

This was an epic war between the two ladies, who put women boxing in the spotlight.

Taylor improved to 24-1 in her career. She had won her last two fights, including a revenge fight win over Chantelle Cameron after suffering her first loss to Cameron.

Serrano fell to 47-3-1 in her career.

“I’m a champion, no matter what, I’m still the featherweight champion,” Serrano said. “I went up three divisions, listen, I’m happy with my team, I’m super grateful, I’m honored to be here. Listen, I’m in Jerry’s world right now, fighting on Netflix, who knew two women would co-headline a great fight like this, I’m on Netflix. But listen, I want to say happy birthday to my dad, it’s his birthday tomorrow, I couldn’t bring the boss back, but I’m healthy, I’m safe, I love you, it’s been a hard year for us, but like I said today, daddy, we’re champions, we’re gonna keep fighting.”
