Oregon leads the third edition of the CFP Top 25 rankings

The third edition of the College Football Playoff Top 25 was released on Tuesday night. The undefeated Oregon Ducks lead the rankings.

The Ducks are on a bye this weekend before they return to action in their season finale next Saturday against the Washington Huskies.

Oregon is 11-0 on the season. They are the only team within the Top 12, who are off this weekend.

The Ohio State Buckeyes are the second-ranked team with their 9-1 mark. They have a huge matchup this Saturday with the No. 5 ranked Indiana Hoosiers.

The Texas Longhorns are the third-ranked team. They are also 9-1.

The Longhorns face the 5-5 Kentucky Wildcats on Saturday at 3:30 pm EST.

The Penn State Nittany Lions are the fourth-ranked team. The Pennsylvania-based school is 9-1 overall.

The Nittany Lions face the 6-4 Minnesota Golden Gophers at 3:30 pm EST.

The undefeated Indiana Hoosiers are the fifth-ranked team. They are 10-0 under first-year head coach Curt Cignetti.

The Buckeyes and Hoosiers matchup will be FOX’s noon kickoff.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are the sixth-ranked team. They are 9-1.

The No. 18 Army Black Knights 9-0 face the Fighting Irish at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York at 7 pm.

The Alabama Crimson Tide is the seventh-ranked team. The Crimson Tide are 8-2.

They face the 5-5 Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday at 7:30 pm EST.

The Crimson Tide jumped three spots with a win over the FCS’ Mercer Bears from last week’s rankings.

The Miami (Florida) Hurricanes are the eighth-ranked team. They are 9-1.

The Hurricanes face the 4-6 Wake Forest Demon Deacons on Saturday at noon.

The Ole Miss Rebels are the ninth-ranked team. The Rebels are 8-2.

They face the 5-5 Florida Gators on Saturday at noon. The Gators will be in upset mode once again after shocking the ranked LSU Tigers last weekend at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.

The Georgia Bulldogs are the tenth-ranked team. The Bulldogs are 8-2.

They face the woeful UMass Minutemen, who are 2-8, on Saturday at 12:45 pm EST. This game will be the Minutemen’s first game under interim head coach Shane Montgomery.

The Tennessee Volunteers are the 11th-ranked team. The Volunteers are 8-2.

They face the 2-8 UTEP Miners on Saturday at 1 pm EST.

The Boise State Broncos are rounding out the Top 12. The Broncos are 9-1.

They gave the 2-8 Wyoming Cowboys on Saturday at 7 pm EST.

The next two out are the SMU Mustangs, who are the 13th-ranked team. The Mustangs add 9-1.

They face the 5-5 Virginia Cavaliers at noon on Saturday.

The BYU Cougars are the 14th-ranked team. The Cougars are 9-1.

They face the No. 21-ranked Arizona State Sun Devils, who are 8-2, at 3:30 pm EST.
