The Oklahoma City Thunder have re-signed swingman Alex Caruso on Sunday. This keeps the pending free agent out of free agency for the next several seasons.

He has agreed to a four-year extension with the Thunder. His new deal is worth $81 million.

Caruso’s new deal has an average of $20.25 million per season. He could have been a free agent in July 2025 had an agreement not been reached.

The veteran — who began his pro career with the Thunder’s training camp in 2016 — will be part of the Thunder’s plans for the foreseeable future. He was acquired by the Thunder in a trade with the Chicago Bulls in July that also involved Josh Giddey.

The 30-year-old Caruso is one of the older players on the team. In fact, he is one of two players, who are 30 years old with Kenrich Williams.

He has appeared in 19 games this season thus far.

Caruso is averaging 5.7 points per game. According to many depth charts, Caruso is a reserve on their bench.
