Justin Frye has accepted his first NFL job. He has been hired by the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday morning as their offensive line coach.
He has been hired by the Cardinals one day after the team lost Klayton Adams to the Dallas Cowboys. Instead of being hired on Brian Schottenheimer’s staff as offensive line coach, Adams will have a new title.
Adams has been hired as the team’s offensive coordinator. Before this appointment, he had never been an offensive coordinator in the NFL. And had just one season as offensive coordinator in college football.
Now, Frye will be instructed to get his offensive line to better project Kyler Murray. The Cardinals went 8-9 this past season.
Frye was the associate head coach and offensive line coach for the Ohio State Buckeyes. He was part of Ryan Day’s coaching staff that won the inaugural 12-team College Football Playoff National Championship in January.
The 41-year-old Frye had been with the Buckeyes since the 2022 season.
Before being hired by the Buckeyes, he was the UCLA Bruins offensive coordinator/offensive line coach from 2019 through 2021. He also spent one season as the Bruins offensive line coach in 2018.
Frye also worked for the Boston College Eagles as their offensive line coach from 2013 through 2017. He was the Temple Owls offensive line coach in 2011 and 2012.
He was a graduate assistant with the Florida Gators in 2009 and 2010. He also was a graduate assistant with the Indiana Hoosiers in 2007 and 2008.
