Atlantic City, NJ — The NASCAR Cup Series teams are prepping for the Cook Out Clash event on Sunday night at historic Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. A NASCAR Cup Series tire changer won his second race this year before his Cup duties began.

Ryan Flores — Ryan Blaney’s front tire changer — won the 40-lap TQ Midget feature on Saturday night at the Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall. The 37-year-old North Carolina native took home the $10,000 check for the win.

“To get back on top with a second Gambler’s Classic and to become the first TQ driver with double-digit victories indoors, it means the absolute world to me,” Flores said in a post-race interview. “Especially since I got to do with the same car, the same guys, and the same motor I’ve had for ten years.”

According to the Indoor Auto Racing Championship, Flores — who is originally from Manasquan, NJ — now has 10 wins in the winter series. This was his second race this season in the series.

He has won four races in the series in the last two years. He won a race in Allentown, Pennsylvania, and Atlantic City each of the last two years.

Flores — who has dominated the Allentown race — won the series opener in Allentown on Friday night. He has won at that event six times, dating back to the 2017 season.

This is Flores’ second win in the Gamblers Classic. He also won the race in 2018.

He got some help in this race. Jankowski experienced a flat tire that took him out of the race.

On Lap 29, as Flores and Jankowski were battling for position, the two drivers made contact. This caused Jankowski’s tire to go down.

From there, Flores had to deal with multiple restarts and held off Matt Swanson, who was making a late push to take over the top spot.

Since 2018, Flores, Jankowski, Tim Buckwalter, and Anthony Sesely won the Gamblers Classic. Flores won twice, Jankowski won four, Buckwalter won in 2022, and Sesely won in 2023.

Flores won the 2022 Gamblers Classic race. However, it was later credited to Buckwalter due to a disqualification.

A tire issue did not conform to the benchmark. This was announced in the days after the race was over.

In 2018, Flores held off Jimmy Blewett and Justin Bonsignore for the win. Blewett finished second and Bonsignore finished third.

This time around, Flores beat Swanson and Briggs Danner. Swanson finished second and Danner was third.
