Defensive Back Eric Allen had a long wait come to an end on Thursday. He is now a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Class of 2025.
He learned that he was a Pro Football Hall of Famer recently. However, Rich Eisen announced the Class of 2025 on Thursday night during the NFL Honors in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Allen is one of two defensive players in this year’s Class. Pass rusher Jared Allen is also in the class.

Sterling Sharpe and Antonio Gates are the offensive players in the class. Sharpe, like Allen, had a very long wait before going into the Hall of Fame during the same class.
The 59-year-old DB was a second round draft pick by the Eagles in the 1988 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles. He played in the league from 1988 through 2001.
In his career, he also played for the Oakland Raiders and the New Orleans Saints outside of the Eagles. He spent seven seasons with the Eagles.
Allen received the honor just days before his former team, the Eagles, play in the Super Bowl on Sunday night against the Kansas City Chiefs at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
He also played four seasons with the Raiders and three seasons with the Saints.
In his NFL career, Allen played in 217 NFL games. He made 214 starts.
Allen had 787 tackles, including one tackle for a loss. He also had 3 sacks.

He had 2.0 sacks during the 1993 season. Then, he added another sack in the 2000 season.
Allen had 54 interceptions, including eight returned for touchdowns. He had six forced fumbles and seven fumble recoveries, including one returned for a touchdown.
He had 40 pass deflections.
