Pass rusher Jared Allen named to ’25 Pro Football Hall of Fame

Former NFL pass rusher Jared Allen was announced as the first name in the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2025. The Pro Football Hall of Fame members were announced at the NFL Honors in New Orleans, Louisiana.
 
Allen is joining a Hall of Fame that includes two defensive players. And two offensive players.

Eric Allen is a fellow defensive player, as he was a cornerback. Sterling Sharpe and Antonio Gates were the offensive players.
 
Sharpe joins his brother Shannon Sharpe in the Hall of Fame. This class will go into the Hall in Canton, Ohio this summer. 

The Texas native said last year that the Hall of Fame snub “pissed him off.” He made the Hall of Fame on his fifth attempt. 
 
Allen played in the NFL from 2004 through 2015. He appeared in 187 games, including 181 starts, in 12 seasons.
 
He played the bulk of his career with the Minnesota Vikings, where he played six seasons. He began his career with the Kansas City Chiefs, where he played four seasons.
 
Allen also played parts of two seasons with the Chicago Bears. And he finished his career with the Carolina Panthers.
 
In his career, Allen had 503 tackles. He also had 171 tackles for a loss and 228 quarterback hits. He also had four safeties.
 
Allen also had 136 sacks, including a career-high 22 sacks in 2011. He also had six interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown.
 
He had 32 forced fumbles and 19 fumble recoveries. He had one fumble recovery for a touchdown. Allen also had 58 pass deflections.
