The San Francisco 49ers had drama and tragedy that derailed their 2024 season. Now, on the day of the Super Bowl, they informed, one of the players, who brought drama to their team last season, that he could find a new team.

Wide receiver Deebo Samuel and his representatives have been given permission to find a trade partner. He is the second wide receiver available in the trade market as the Los Angeles Rams said they have made Cooper Kupp available to teams.

Last November, Samuel got in the face of Jake Moody when he missed a field goal in a 23-20 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Samuel grabbed his teammate, long snapper Taybor Pepper, and made contact with Moody during the incident on the sidelines.

This caused backlash from many national television pundits.

The 29 year old Samuel was a second round draft pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. In 2014, he started 15 games with the team.

He had 51 receptions for 670 yards. Samuel also had three touchdowns.

His best game of the season came in Week 2. He had eight receptions for 110 yards on September 15th in a 23-17 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

In the final 11 games of the season, Samuel did not have 100 yards in a game. In what will be his final game with the team, Samuel had one reception for five yards in Week 16 in a 40-34 Monday Night Football loss to the Detroit Lions.

He did not play in the season finale in a 47-24 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

In his six year career, Samuel appeared in 81 games. He also made 73 starts.

Samuel has had 334 receptions for 4,792 yards and 22 touchdowns. He also had 202 carries for 1,1,43 yards and 20 rushing touchdowns.
