The Philadelphia Eagles beat down the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night. The Eagles won the Super Bowl with a 40-22 win over the Chiefs at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The Eagles were able to get some revenge on the Chiefs. Two years ago, the Chiefs defeated the Eagles in the 2023 Super Bowl at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

This is the Eagles’ second Super Bowl. They also won the 2017 Super Bowl when they defeated the New England Patriots in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

A Vic Fangio defense defeated Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes for the first time. Previously, Fangio, who is the Eagles defensive coordinator, was 0-8 against Mahomes as the Denver Broncos head coach and the Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator.
Since 2002, a team traveling West to a Super Bowl has not lost. This is the ninth time this has happened the Eagles winning the Super Bowl after the west traveling team to the Big Game.
Previously, it happened last season with the Chiefs defeating the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas. Before that, it happened in 2019 when the Patriots defeated the Los Angeles Rams in Atlanta.
In 2015, the Patriots traveled west to Glendale, Arizona to defeat the Seattle Seahawks. In 2013, the Baltimore Ravens defeated the 49ers in New Orleans.
In 2009, the Pittsburgh Steelers traveled west to defeat the Cardinals in Tampa, Florida. The Steelers also traveled west in 2006 when they defeated the Seahawks in Detroit, Michigan.
In 2003, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers traveled west to defeat the Oakland Raiders in San Diego, California. In 2002, the Patriots traveled west and defeated the St. Louis Rams in New Orleans.
The Chiefs failed to become the first team in NFL history to win three straight Super Bowls. Patrick Mahomes also failed to become the first quarterback before 30 years old to win four Super Bowls.
Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts went 17 of 22 for 221 yards. He had two touchdown passes and one interception.
Hurts also had 11 carries for 72 yards and one touchdown. DeVonta Smith had four receptions for 69 yards and one touchdown.
Mahomes went 21 of 32 for 257 yards. He had three touchdown passes and two interceptions.
Mahomes had four carries for 25 yards. Xavier Worthy had eight receptions for 157 yards and two touchdowns.
The Eagles led 34-0 before the Chiefs even scored in the third quarter. The Chiefs outscored the Eagles 22-16 in the second half.
Mahomes hit Worthy for a 24-yard touchdown reception. Mahomes hit DeAndre Hopkins for a seven-yard touchdown reception.
Following the Mahomes to Hopkins score, the team converted a two-point conversion when Mahomes hit Justin Watson.
Mahomes also hit Worthy for a 50-yard touchdown reception. Following the score, they converted a two-point play when Mahomes hit Hopkins.

Hurts hit Smith for a 46-yard touchdown reception. Jake Elliott also made three field goals. He first made a 29-yard field goal.
He then made a 48-yard field goal. He also made a 50-yard field goal.
The Eagles led 24-0 at halftime. Hurts scored on a one-yard rushing touchdown.
Cooper DeJean intercepted Mahomes. He then returned it for a 38-yard interception return for a touchdown.
Hurts also hit A.J. Brown for a 12-yard touchdown reception after a second interception by Mahomes. Elliott also made a 48-yard field goal.
