Tiger Woods announces he has a ruptured Achilles tendon

According to reports, golfing legend Tiger Woods has a ruptured Achilles tendon. This will sideline the golfer for an extended period.

Woods suffered the injury was he was preparing for the PGA Tour season. Woods said that his left leg was injured and “gave out on him.”

It is not the right leg that he almost had amputated in 2021. Woods had a roller-over car accident that caused him significant injuries and the right leg almost being amputated.

Woods has already had surgery to repair his injury. The doctor claimed it to be a success.

This is the second straight year that Woods has had surgery. He also had back surgery in 2024.

While Woods is looking at a lengthy recovery time — at least nine months — this injury may make people wonder if Woods will be a top golfer once again when he does return to the tour. Only time will tell if that is indeed the case.
