According to ABC7, a 43-year-old soccer coach has been charged with murder in the death of Oscar Omar Hernandez. Mario Garcia Aquino was the 13 year old’s soccer coach.
Aquino was arrested on Wednesday. However, that was for an unrelated sexual assault chase that had been investigated since last year, according to the report.

Reports suggest that the police had questioned Aquino after Hernandez went missing. Hernandez’s family said that Aquino was the last person known to be with the teenager before his disappearance.

Aquino is charged with murder in Hernandez’s death. At 7 pm EST, the Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman will hold a press conference to discuss the case.
Last week, Hernandez’s body was found in Ventura County. The teenager had been reported missing days earlier on Sunday.
An investigation began and found that the teenager boarded a train to Palmdale, where he was allegedly going to help Aquino at a sports complex there. However, that night, he did not return from helping the coach.
That’s when the family began to worry and began to look for him. That same day, the family reported him missing to the police.

Hernandez’s body was found in Oxnard, California, along a road. At press time, the authorities have not revealed what led to them linking Aquino to this crime.
The police will share more information at the press conference without damaging their case.
