Dirt track legend Scott Bloomquist committed suicide, according to the NTSB. The news came out on Tuesday.
Their report says that he intentionally crashed the plane into his family’s barn. The report said ir was “an act of suicide.”

Bloomquist passed away last August. According to TMZ, a representative said that the family had no public comments on the report.
“They are focused on supporting one another and respectfully request privacy as they navigate this difficult period,” the rep said to TMZ.
The race car driver was the occupant of a vintage Piper J-3 airplane. He crashed the plane into the barn on the family’s property in Mooresburg, Tennessee.
He was 60 at the time of his death. Bloomquist suffered blunt force trauma due to the crash.
The racing icon had more than 600 career wins. He also had nine championships as a driver.
He won the Dirt Late Model Dream eight times. He also won the World 100 four times.
Bloomquist had 94 wins with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. He also had 33 wins with the World of Outlaws Late Model Series. He had 100 wins with the Hav-A-Tampa Series.
He is considered one of the greatest dirt track late model racers of all time. He was inducted into the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame in 2002.
