Top Fuel Dragster driver Terry McMillen recently had back surgery. He had the operation on June 17th.

McMillen hopes that the operation will allow him to get back into a race car in the near future.

“I’m a little exhausted but happy to report that the back surgery I had yesterday went well,” Terry McMillen’s Facebook page said in a post. “I feel good and look forward to healing so I can hopefully get back to racing soon.”

McMillen will be making his Top Fuel Dragster return this season. He has partnered with Mercier Racing to compete at East Coast based events, including the U.S. Nationals.

The Indiana driver has previously been teammates with Dan Mercier. Last year, Mercier purchased McMillen’s racing operation.

Tuner Rob Wendlend will serve as the team’s crew chief. He had been McMillen’s crew chief when he had the Hoosier Thunder Motorsports team.

Mercier is expected to compete in the Amalie Oil/Mercier Racing entry at the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio. At this time, McMillen is not entered into any race through the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals at Brainerd International Raceway in Brainerd, Minnesota in August.

But that can always change. McMillen and Mercier have until the Monday of the race to enter into a race before the deadline closes.
